My New
"MaxiTear"
Page Five -

- A new page for a new month! Well, I've wanted to get new wheels and
tires on my trailer and I finally found someone here who would help me
out. Tire Exchange in Bakersfield has great service and they are
Hotrodders...so they know about making something out of nothing. Now I
have my chrome reverse rims with babymoon hubcaps. Maybe I am partial, but
I think they'll add just the right touch when it is complete. Oh yeah,
Carolyn & Kaden were having a LOT of fun in the trailer this morning
too! The closer I get to finishing, the more anxious I am to get it done.

12/15/01 - OK, OK...yes, we've been working on the interior of the trailer and it is 90% done...the work continues as Carolyn makes this page! As you can see from the pics below, the table is in, the countertop is in along with the plumbing and electrical being done. I bought a gel battery, which is inside the closet. The fans are three speed reversible - one in the front and one in the back. The bed has been done. Carolyn made the mattress cover, sleeping bag cover (you cannot see it in these pics), and all the pillows for the trailer. It is very difficult to get good pictures of the interior...but we'll do our best. The pics don't give the coziness that you feel when you are inside...guess you'll just have to catch us at one of the gatherings when it is road worthy!

1/6/01 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I haven't updated my page in awhile, but here goes...get ready for this!!! Since everyone (myself included) was giving me a hard time about the size of my trailer and towing it with the PTCruiser, I have been looking for the right tow vehicle...SO, here it is...a late 1955 Chevy Pick-Up. I'll be putting a Volare front end, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes and then prettying it up. It runs now, I just want it to be a smooth ride that Carolyn can drive too. This is my late Christmas present...as if I haven't had Christmas all year round since starting this project... :)
1/17/02 - FINALLY, a clear nice day with some free time!!! I have been doing some work on the truck and today I'm devoting the day to projects...Yes, progress has been made on the trailer...the door is on!!! YEAH! They showed up the other day with the mirror for the cabinetry...now I'm waiting for the glass doors for the upper cabinet. We've broken in the MaxiTear by having lunch in it frequently and playing Gin during lunch. Carolyn is quite the card player...watch out.

Ain't it SOOOO pretty!! :)
Just wait till you see it in person!!!
2/9/02 - It seems like we are only getting pics on the site every month or so...just yesterday we finally got the vinyl flooring down. So, we took the digital with a fisheye lense and got some pics...Enjoy! :)

Here's pics of the flooring...
