My New "MaxiTear"
Page Seven - Beginning 3/22/02

3/22/02 - FINALLY, I am back to work on the MaxiTear...I have the truck back on the road and running great...today we are concentrating on the exterior...As you can see, I have insulated the sides with R13 and am now in the process of cutting the plywood skin (1/4" AC) to fit.  We are gluing and nailing it in place.  Stay tuned to see how it is finished.....

3/25/02 - THE SIDES ARE ON!!!  YIPPEEEE!!!!!!!  Now, it is finish time!

I Really did do it...I have the trim on one side and am almost done with the second side trim...now on to finishing it up!!!

4/3/02 - We've chosen colors and have started actually applying them...now remember, this is just the primer coat...I'll be sanding the fill and putting another coat of primer on those areas...just you wait and see the finished product!!!!!!!

4/5/01 - Color...you want color...here we go!!!   The aluminum will be put on this weekend!  The porthole glass has been cut and will be installed this weekend as well........just think...after all this time, what will I do once it is done???  Here's the first installment of photos for the weekend.

4/12/02 - Well, needless to say, the aluminum didn't get put on last weekend...technical difficulties...oh well.  We are working on it today and will hopefully be able to get it done this weekend or first of next week...our time deadline (Dam Gathering) is getting closer and closer by the day.  You can see from the pics that I am overlapping the aluminum about 1-1/2 inches so the water will run off it like a shingle...that means LOTS of screws and LOTS of hole drilling!!!

4/15/02 - After lots of trial and error...I think we finally got the hang of it.  Here's some more pics of the progress...

4/18/02 - The time & efforts seem to be paying off...while waiting for the lexan for the back window, we completed the side windows and a lot of trim pieces, including the tail lights.
