October 28-31, 2004

What a good time we all had.  There were 35 campsites, 75 people and about 15 or more dogs (all were very well behaved).  As you can see from the photos to the left, we all did a lot of resting, visiting with old and new friends, eating, and fishing...did we say fishing?  Yes, once again Carolyn was the one who caught the most fish.  On Saturday late afternoon she caught the first of the two  largest fish of the weekend...two pounds and 16" long...it was in a deep hole just below campsite #434.  After the potluck, she was asked what she was doing to catch fish.  She then rigged up her line like she had been doing all weekend, went down the the same hole and pulled out another two pounder on the first cast!  What a hoot!!!

Rumors about next year's gathering (October 27-30) started on Friday morning and by that evening the entire river front was booked.  Right now there's limited space available for sites with hook ups.  So, if you're thinking about joining in on the fun, you'd better consider making reservations soon.  (If you cancel within two weeks, you'll receive a full discount and you can cancel up to 48 hours in advance.)

There were all types of trailers from homebuilt teardrops to high end Airstreams.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year and hope that we can have just as much fun...if not more!

Happy Trails -
Jerry & Carolyn Piper

p.s. - Carolyn says the only trick to catching fish is not giving up...if you quit trying, you won't catch anything.
